SLF belongs to CSI, Coatings Societies International, whose members are:

The secretariat for CSI is placed at SLF from 10th of September 2009 and the next five years. The contact between the 8 associations is done by holding a CSI-meeting between the presidents every year.
The official CSI-meeting i 2005 took place in Durham, UK in July.
The offical CSI-meeting in 2006 took place at the 4th Tasman Conference, Queenstown, New Zealand,in June.
The official CSI-meeting in 2007 took place at 80th JSCM Anniversary Conference, Tokyo, Japan in september.
The official CSI-meeting in 2008 took place at the FATIPEC Congress in Gent in Belgium in June.
The official CSI-meeting in 2009 took place at the 19th SLF Congress in Sandefjord in Norway in September.

History:
SLF has an intense contact with other Federations of Paint Technologists in the world. At the OCCA Congresses in England SLF has been represented by its Presedent or some past-President each year since 1961. At the annual FSCT Congresses in USA, SLF has been represented by its President on most occasions since 1963.
Also with FATIPEC we in SLF have been represented at the most congresses.
In Japan we have been three times: 1997,2003 & 2007.

Aims:
The CSI meets regularly during the national conferences of its member organizations to pursue the following aims:

To ensure the international co-ordination of dates for scientific, technical and related events organized by its members;
To bring out the major directions of pure and applied research in the field of coatings technology;
To generate scientific and technical work liable to lead to world progress in these industries;
To support and ensure the publication of scientific, technical, and technico-economic work of interest to these industries; and,
Generally, to carry out or have carried out all useful action for the progress of these industries which one, or several members grouped together, could not undertake alone.

The next Official Meeting of CSI will take place the 31st August 2010 in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the SATER Report Congress.
